Every day seems to be throwing up newer challenges for Mamata Banerjee, the fiery Chief Minister of West Bengal - and in desperation, she has begun to threaten both the CPM and the Indian National Congress, blaming them for all the ills.
THE TRINAMOOL congress chief wrested power from the CPM-led left front in the assembly elections and became the Chief Minister of the state – but, even now she feels that CPM is creating troubles for her on various fronts.

Not only CPM, but she has now added the Indian National Congress which, she believes, is also hell bent on creating difficulties for her in proper governance. Mamata is fuming at the continuous criticism by both the CPM and the INC for her poor performance in the last 8 months on all fronts and also her autocratic style of functioning.
It appears that she is waging wars on imaginary adversaries in order to hide her incompetence and failures on all fronts - it is akin to the bad carpenter who blames his tools. The INC is her coalition partner in both the state and at the center and she has repeatedly made it clear to New Delhi that while she does not need its support in the state, the UPA II just cannot ignore her at the center – her support is keeping it alive.
Hence, she feels that due to her indispensability in New Delhi, she can call the shots and the state-level of the INC must follow her diktats. She has been treating INC like dirt and the Congress high command is compelled to swallow the insults quietly because she wields enough power to destabilize the UPA-II government.
