Mystics have been telling us for aeons that a body is simply a vehicle for our real self, the consciousness rich resides within us. Consciousness never dies with the brain. It is postulated that future will eventually scan our brain.
MAN HAS created and invented so many things that greatly help him to go ahead in life. We always use the modern technology to enhance our capabilities. There are various ways to enhance our senses. For example, human sight is enhanced by using spectacles. When we talk to someone sitting next to you, no technology is needed, but when you want to talk to one, miles away from you, you pick a phone and then talk to him. The Internet is also a magic. We communicate through e-mail and chat, using a computer hooked up to Internet as our medium.
In fact, in the present times, we can’t imagine life without these tools. Once the novelty wears off, the idea of being part human, part machine too will cease to seem abnormal. Indeed, the day may well come when only the extremely economical disadvantaged people will be purely human. But these unique tools and mechanisms are gradually spreading all over the world, including the rural areas.
A few exceptions are there like the subsistence households that are completely cut off from the rest of the world. Everything has become possible now, except for the fact that we are mortal. We are conditioned to see death as inevitable and certain. But death is simply a biological puzzle waiting to be solved. Mystics have been telling us for aeons that a body is simply a vehicle for our real self, the consciousness rich resides within us.
Consciousness never dies with the brain. It is postulated that future will eventually scan our brain to map the locations, interconnections, and contents of the somas, axons, dendrites, presynaptic vesicles and other neural components. Before the 21st century is completed, people will port their entire mind file to the new thinking technology. There will be nostalgia for our humble carbon-based roots, but there is nostalgia for vinyl records also. Ultimately, we did copy most of that analog music to the more flexible and capable world of transferable digital information.
It is postulated that actually there will not be mortality by the end of the 21st century. But this is a highly controversial issue. How can this happen? How will the earth with enhanced human longevity? There are many such questions that have no answers. One thing is certain that man will never be able to overpower the Almighty.
