Man molests air hostess on Jet Airways flight, gets arrested
A passenger has been accused of molesting two air hostess of Jet Airways on Saturday.

The incident happened on the Jet Airways flight enroute form Mumbai to Nagpur. The two air hostesses submitted a written complaint to the flight captain against the accused. The accused has been identified as a 23-year-old hardware trader.

As per a report in The Times of India, the accused, identified as Akash Gupta was handed over to the CISF once the plane landed. The incident reportedly took place when the air hostesses were serving Gupta his in-flight meal. Gupta, who was allegedly drunk, reportedly grabbed the hands of the two air-hostesses. When the air hostesses sought help from other cabin crew members, the accused allegedly argued with them.

The CISF later contacted Sonegaon police, who arrested Gupta on the charges under section 354 of Indian Penal Code (IPC)– outraging the modesty of a woman. He has been sent to judicial custody.

"Gupta, who had probably consumed liquor in Mumbai, grabbed the hand of the two air hostesses when they were serving him the meal. The air hostesses immediately informed other crew members who stopped Gupta. But he argued with them too, so they informed the captain," Times of India quoted police officials.

Gupta was reportedly returning from his vacation in Goa and had boarded the flight from Nagpur.

Passengers molesting air hostesses has been a growing menace in Indian skies with such incidents increasing rapidly despite strict laws.

Last year, a 29-year-old man from Gujarat was arrested for allegedly trying to take a selfie with an air hostess forcefully. The accused identified as Mohamad Ambudkar was on board a Mumbai-bound flight from Dammam in Saudi Arabia.
