Andrew Male is a person who wants to make the biggest hug group in the world. For that he has made a community page in Facebook and appealed to the people to join in.
A CHRISTCHURCH man wants to create the largest group hug and wants to set a record for it in the Guinness Book of World record. Appealing for the same, he has made a Facebook community and has requested 10,000 people to join him so that he can beat the current people of Alba Iulia in Romania, who are holding the title. They set this record in 2009. Andrew Male, who is originally from Britain, wants to do something for the people of Christchurch as he feels that they “could do with a hug”.

The organiser, Andrew Male wants to make the record on September 4, as this is the day when Earthquake caused some real harm to the people of Chirstchurch. Commenting on the same he said, “This will be a symbol of something very special - home, pride, national identity, call it what you will - it will be moving and wonderful event, something Christchurch needs!!”
After his appeal in Facebook as many as 4900 people signed in to attend the occasion while around 1500 people said that they might attend. This earthquake, which happened on September 4, last year was of 7.1 magnitude. He has been in New Zealand for only six years but he feels really connected to the people there and wants to do something for them. He also adds, “Ever since I've been here, Kiwis have always been so friendly and welcoming and I feel like I should give something back."
