SPECULATIONS ABOUT about Manchester United Portugese winger Luiz Nani, were finally put to rest after the Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson that he did not intend to drop Nani from the team and sell him off.

The rumours that this might happen had begun when the 23 year old Nani had expressed his frustration of not being allowed on the field in some of the recent games. Nani was not taken for the games that Machester United had recently played against Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Alex Furguson said,“Some big clubs have been mentioned for Nani, like Milan and Benfica, but there has been no contact made with us – and we wouldn’t entertain selling him anyway. He is only 23. If someone came in for Nani in January we would tell him that he is going absolutely nowhere.”

The Scottish manager also gave a hint that Nani might get a chance to play this week, when Manchester United would take on  challenge Tottenham Hotspur in the next League Cup match. “He’s a young boy and he wants to play – and he might get a chance against Spurs in the Carling Cup this week.”

However Alex Ferguson also gave him a veiled warning to perform in the match, saying that the player must “take his chance”. “It is no criticism of Nani, but the way things have developed in the last few weeks have gone against him. I have spoken to him and told him that he must take his chance when it comes along.”
