Managing a firm or any other unit anywhere
According to my understanding, managing any unit of a firm or any other institute (say higher learning) is not an easy task, but if someone can manage his household according to the comparative advantage, he or she can fully manage any other business firm

THE EDUCATION system in the country has not been favoured by all. In order to get the practice right, there are major loopholes in the system, which are yet to be covered in order to impart quality education amongst the coming generations. The article discusses how the void can be filled leading to the contentment of the students and the teachers alike.


• Just as each member of a household is a different model, likewise, each member of a department should be treated as a different model, and should be assigned a role according to his/her comparative advantage.
• The syllabi has to be upgraded quite often, especially in economics, because it is a dynamic science and changes quite often.
• The Head should organize seminars, symposia, and workshops quite often.
• There should also be linkages with other institutes/universities in order to exchange ideas.
• Every teacher has to sign a code of conduct every year.
• Every teacher should also do SWOT exercise to find out his/her weaknesses, and there should be a unit in the organization/university/institute to eliminate the weaknesses.
• The teaching has to be done face to face with the students, and not otherwise. I have seen that many teachers either dictate their notes to the students and write them on the blackboard, and do not logically explain what they are teaching.
• There should also be Self-Assessment-of Teachers(SAT) year and Student-assessment of Staff (SAS) every year.
• Teachers have to trained in supervision of Ph.D degrees.
• There should be a library in the department so that both students and teachers take books from there and add to their learning.
• Each teacher has to write at least one paper that gets published in standard academic journals.
• Teachers should share their thoughts with each other in the general staff room.
• Attendance of students should be made compulsory as well as of teachers.
• There must be external examiners for setting the question papers.
• The Department Committee must have at least two external members from other institutes or business firms for the reason that they would indicate the kind of manpower they require for their  firms, and the course should be changed accordingly so that students who have to find a job do not have any problems in getting it.
• The teaching should be made effective. For this I suggest the following fours ways: Read half of what you really read; Think Twice of what you really think.
 
Write thrice of what you really write and disseminate four times of what you really disseminate. I think time is not far off when man would find a way to copy and paste someone’s knowledge to other person.
