Manchester United agree world record deal with Adidas worth £750million
One of the biggest clubs in world football, Manchester United has agreed to pen a deal with Adidas on a 10-year agreement. This agreement between the two giants, Manchester United and Adidas (in their own field) is a world record for any football club as well, which would see Adidas paying £750 million over a period of ten years.

It is the global reach of the club that might have urged the German sportswear company to come up with such a massive deal, hoping for profit margins in the future.

The statement from the club read, "Manchester United has reached a 10-year agreement with adidas for a global technical sponsorship and dual branded licensing deal for a minimum guarantee of £750million, subject to certain adjustments, beginning with the 2015/2016 campaign.''

Adidas will be the new sponsors of Manchester United starting 2015/16. But, it has to be understood that for the upcoming season (2014-15), it is Nike who would still be their sponsor. It was only after Nike decided to pull out of the bidding war, which paved the way for Adidas, as Nike felt that the red devils were asking too much money this time around for a new deal.

Nike sponsored United since 2002 and the 2014-15 season would be their last as a partner to the club, ending their partnership of twelve years. Nike during the time made an agreement worth £303million with United, but the current deal is double of the last deal.
