Manchester United reject Chelsea's bid for Rooney
Chelsea is keen on signing current Manchester United star player, Wayne Rooney, but their recent bid has once again been rejected by Manchester United, as the current United manager, David Moyes holds Rooney as an integral part of his plans for the upcoming season.
Jose Mourinho, the Chelsea manager, on the other hand has showed interest to sign Rooney, after speculations about Rooney wanting to quit Old Trafford. The bid placed by blues on Sunday stood at £25m plus add-ons, reported BBC. It might be very difficult for the English striker to be sold to any club, unless the player himself submits a transfer request. In this scenario, it would not be surprising, if Arsenal also joins in and tries to persuade the player to join Arsenal, who are also on the lookout for a striker.
After the arrival of Van Persie from Arsenal to United last season, the player is playing second fiddle to the Dutch striker. But the player cannot do anything as well, as Perise has been in tremendous form and in fact helped United clinch the title. Moyes has stated that Van Persie is going to be his first choice striker, so Rooney's future is not so bright at Old Trafford.
With more than 3 weeks to go before the transfer window shuts down, it would not be surprising if Jose Mourinho once again increases his transfer bid to land the striker, who could be a great addition in their squad.
Chelsea, after bringing back Jose Mourinho has become one of the favourites to win the English Premier League. Though, Mourinho may be able to grant him first team football, but Ronney is not going to find it easy in a club, which has a number of strikers such as Fernando Torres, Lukaku and other attacking players in their ranks.
