MANCHESTER UNITED once again suffered another heavy defeat on the hands of Newcastle United after their previous loss to Blackburn Rovers. It was their successive defeat during the season, where they were thrashed 3-0 at St. James Park. It is a big disappointment for United, as they are trailing by three points to Manchester City, who are on the top of the EPL standings, with 48 points.

When the whistle blew for the game to start between Newcastle and Manchester United, there were very few people who had expected Newcastle to win the match in such a convincing manner. Newcastle had a very positive approach towards the game, as they played with two strikers upfront, Demba Ba and S. Ameobi, who troubled the Manchester defenders on a regular basis. Ba, Cabaye were on the score sheet for Newcastle. Jones scored an own goal, which also turned out to be the final goal of the game.

The in-form player for Manchester United, Berbatov, was given a start by Alex Ferguson. Still, he was not able to impress during the match, as he had partnered Rooney upfront. It was a game, where Manchester United was dominated, which happens very rarely. Newcastle United with this victory has totalled 33 points in the league. It was sad for Anders Lindegaard, as he was under the bar for Manchester United, replacing David De Gea. Unfortunately, Newcastle played better on the day, so Lindegaard had to pick the ball thrice from the back of the net.

Manchester United needs to erase this loss from their mind and pose a challenge to the title, which they won last year too. They need to come up with a good display in their next match, scheduled for 14th of January against Bolton. Now, Manchester United cannot think of hiccups, anymore for the remainder of the season.
