Mandore express, plying between Jodhpur and Delhi, derailed on Saturday early morning, near Dausa station, with 15 coaches of the train moving off the tracks. About five people have been reported as dead and 25 injured.
A TRAIN derailed again, moving 15 of its coaches off the tracks at midnight on November 14. The Mandore express (2461), derailed at around 1:30 AM, near the Dausa station. About five people have been reported as dead and 25 injured.
The accident came as a rude shock for most of the passengers, who were asleep at that time. The train which was plying to Jodhpur from Delhi moved off the tracks near Bans ka Phatak, about 40 KM from Jaipur. Five of the AC compartments, seven sleeper coaches and three general coaches moved off the tracks in such a manner that, one of the AC compartments overturned.According to the KL Enkhia, CPRO, North western railway, a relief train has been sent from Delhi to aid the uninjured passengers and GRP personnel are using hydraulic cutters to tear through overturned coaches and rescue any passengers that might be trapped inside.
The injured have taken to a hospital in Jaipur and a special relief helpline has been set up for enquires – 0141-2201567. Investigations are on to decipher how this incident took place, while some people are accusing the railways of negligence in monitoring the railway tracks.
