Mangalore pub incident: How free are we?
The dastardly Mangalore pub incident is equivalent to terror. It's high time the so-called leaders took a call on such incidents and provided the very basic right to the citizens, namely, "the right to live freely in their own country."
IN A country like ours, where forest department officers are sacked when a leopard is brutally killed in some place in Madhya Pradesh or where a Salman Khan is taken to task, for the so-called killing of an endangered species, namely the black buck, where does the most intelligent animal of them all, viz, man, stand? A day before the country flaunted its military prowess in its 60th Republic Day celebrations, a group of hooligans went on a rampage, brutally assaulting girls in a pub in Mangalore. Why? Were those girls doing anything, which was against the law? How can a group of people draw the courage to commit such an act? Has the fear of law subsided to such an extent in the minds of the law-breakers?

With more and more of such groups emanating all over the country, isn’t this a threat to the security, peace and stability of the country? How can the government hesitate to ban such self-proclaimed groups of moral police? Or is the government actually encouraging the growth of such groups for making political capital?

Although the entire country witnessed this ghastly incident, little has been done to bring these inhuman people to book. Isn’t this an act equivalent to terror? Or only if a Taj and Oberoi hotel is captured by terrorists from a neighbouring country, should we go up in arms against terrorism? It’s high time, the so-called leaders of this nation took a call on such incidents and provided the very basic right to its citizens, namely, "the right to live freely in their own country."

.Hooliganism is wrong. Definately so. But, the media is focussing on the wrongs or shortfalls of one political party - the BJP. Do you know the extent of human rights violations taking place in communist states? Communist cadres are killing ordinary people for their disagreement and still the media is not focussing on that. Another thing is that pubs are not a healthy sign for anybody - including men and women. Because it breeds alcoholism.

Neha, Request you to go through the lines once again. You probably interpreted the context otherwise. The lines were not to slander Salman Khans image, but to bring to light, that why was it that he had to be harassed to that extent for the so called act and people walk scott free after causing harm to humans. Is it, because, though being a celebrity, he is non political and can be compared to any ordinary citizen? It actually states pro Salman Khan and not against.
.Mr. rajath your guess is currect, im from mangalore these groups are supported by the present karnataka govt and dept so thses groups doesnt care to act like animal. they think they can do whatever they like, i guess it will create big problem in future if the dept couldnt take proper action against these group. first i feel proud to say mangalorean. now i will think twice to say if some one asks me wher are you from,
