This year Delhi tourism will be organising the 23rd mango festival at Dilli Haat from July 1 to July 3. At the festival, varieties of mangoes from all over the world will be displayed. An official from the Delhi tourism department also said that this festival is organised every year especially for Delhiites as it is greatly enjoyed by them and on the basis of their feedback this time the organisers have tried to make the festival even better.
The festival will have people from different age groups, who can enjoy mangoes ranging from size and shape of a litchi to that of a jackfruit. Apart from this, the festival will also have various kinds of competitions and games organised for complete entertainment. The main purpose of the festival is to provide a platform to the domestic industry and exporters.The centre of attraction at the festival would be the mango eating competition between men and women. This year the event will also have a panel of mango experts from across the world - who will participate in one-on–one interaction with people, and give them information about mangoes of various kinds.There are approximately 1365 varieties of mangoes in the world, of which 1000 types of mangoes are grown in India. More than 50 per cent of the mangoes are cultivated in India.So all you mango lovers out there get ready to treat your taste buds!
