Manoj Bajpayee resembles Marlin Brando, Nawazuddin is like Al Pacino
In Gangs of Wasseypur, get ready to witness shady people, gritting teeth, guiltless killing and funny situations even as the film is on its way to become one of the best cult movies in Indian film history.

AS THE name Gangs of Wasseypur suggests, the movie is about gangwars, bloodshed, and full of revenge. Let’s analyze the film. The middle of the film is drags, and it could have been trimmed to make the story look even better.

When you sit to watch all the bloodshed with desi katta and bombs, you are sure to have thrills with added Bihari masala - reminding you of 'litti chokha' right from the desi soil. Music in the backdrop will remind you of Director Francis Coppola’s Godfather but you will soon realize that Gangs of Wasseypur's music is in the same league as tenor as Peepli Live and Bandit Queen.

The story of Gangs of Wasseypur is good and is well-handled with close to 300 characters in the movie. Anurag Kashyap, the director of the film, unlike his movies that are dark and serious, has included situational jokes in the film that will make you laugh hard. Some funny famous jokes such as .....chahe kitna bhi badh jaye....magar....ke niche hi rahega ...... and one of the finest dialogues like “yeh wasseypur hai yahaan parinda bhi.....”

The voice over by Piyush Mishra is well-credited and establishes the script but there are some repetitions of the same artists in the movie that could have been handled (am sure that could be because of the sheer budget constraints that happen in these kind of movies).

Gangs of Wasseypur starts before India’s Independence and ends in modern India though not in 2012. It is a well-researched film and is filled with the filth of Wasseypur's shady characters, and fabulous performances, which would eventually be your take home and make you drool for the new plot that would be coming in Gangs of Wasseypur 2.

Special praise for Tigmanshu Dhulia as the villain. Gangs of Wasseypur is sure to catapult many people into more fame such as Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddique, Richa Chaddha, Piyush Mishra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Pankaj Tripathi, Rima Sen, Bipin Sharma, and Huma Sheikh - the list is long.
