Many firsts on the 58th National Film Award
The 58th National Film Award is to be held today and people who have worked really hard to make some good films will be recognised for their hard work. A number of firsts are bound to result during the ceremony.

ACCORDING TO his tweet this morning, Rajat Kapoor who is this year’s host for the National film Awards is a little nervous. The 58th year of the ceremony will be held in Vigyan Bhawan. For the first time in 58 years, the certificate and the trophy of the award have received a remodelling. According to reports by media houses, the design and the layout of the certificate has been completely changed. Now, the certificate is a A3 size with beautifully gold-embossed Ashok Stambh on it, and the medal is also different and would be kept in a display box.

Apart from this, another first for the National Film award is that six couples and a father-daughter duo will climb the dais to receive the prestigious award from the President, Pratibha Patil for doing exemplary work in the field of cinema. The winning duo includes Rekha-Vishal Bhardwaj for "Ishqiya"; Sachin-Bindiya Khanolkar for "Mee Sindhutai Sapkal"; Malaika-Arbaaz Khan for "Dabangg"; K.R. Manoj-Ranjini Krishnan for "A Pestering Journey"; Shylaja Nag-B. Suresha for "Puttakkana Highway"; and Ananya-Manish Chakraborti for "Understanding Trafficking".

Rekha Baradwaj is also to sing her famous song, “Badi dheede dheede jail.” Apart from that Suresh Wadekar would add his performance to the star-studded evening. In the children’s category, Maharashtra is in the spotlight owing to the fact that four out of five children winners are from Maharashtra. People are waiting eagerly for the ceremony to begin in Delhi when many people will be felicitated with awards.
