Maoists award corporal punishment to Bihar man

Baijnath Chowdhary was made to do sit-ups publicly by Maoists for being involved in swindling government funds.

IN A Kangaroo court hearing, presided over by the Maoists in the Gaya district of Bihar, Baijnath Chowdhary was awarded corporal punishment. Before letting him off, he was asked to do sit-ups as part of the punishment.

In this ANI video, Chowdhary said, “The work of the rural body was pending and that is why I confessed before the public. The people here have decided that we will work in full co-operation with each other.” Chowdhary, who is said to be husband of a rural body head was charged due to his alleged involvement in swindling government funds.

The hearing took six hours to come to an end. But Chwodhary was lucky that the Maoists did not punish him harshly, which they are easily capable of. The Maoists have let him off easily but they have told him that he would be punished severely, if he gets involved in any form of indiscretion in the near future.
