Maoists involved in Vineel Krishna abduction arrested
Two Maoists including a woman suspected to be involved in the abduction of Malkangiri Collector R. Vineel Krishna in 2011 were arrested in Malkangiri.

Police sources told this citizen journalist that the two were been taken to police custody on the evening of February 14 during combing operations conducted by special operation group and District Voluntary Force in a forest area of Relegada Panchayat in Chitrakonda Police station limits of Malkangiri district. 

The female Maoist arrested was Satyavati alias Bhagya (40) and the Maoists militia named Undaliam Bangaraya (45) Savitri was a most wanted Maoist for both Andha Pradesh and Odisha governments, police sources said. 

She had a reward of Rs. 4 lakh in Andha Pradesh. Savitri was an area committee member of the Andhra– Odisha border special zonal committee. She was with the Maoists party since 2001.

Savitri was allegedly involved in the abduction of Malkangiri Collector Vineel Krishna way back in 2011, and also involved in the attack on a boat carrying Greyhound Jawans in Chitrakondda reservoir at Alampaka on June 29, 2008. Thirty eight people, including 35 Greyhound commandos from Andhra Pradesh, died in the Maoist attack. She was also involved in several exchange of fire with Greyhound personal of Andhra Pradesh in the past.
