THEIR BODIES were found near Borigi primary school on Saturday morning. They have been identified as Sankar Rao of Nagulaguda and Santosh of Borigi the police sources said. The Maoists had tied their limbs and slit their throats in a much barbaric and inhuman manner. Worse than the way the Taliban kills. In a letter left at the spot the Maoists claimed that they killed the 2 persons as they were police informers. Both of them had been abducted by the Maoists from their respective homes on Friday night.
The police officials said Maoists are killing innocent people branding them as “police informers” in an effort to strengthen their base in remote areas. In July, Maoists killed 2 tribals one was Suka Nachika of Uperrenga village and Dhuli Hubika of Pillibada village under Narayanpatna block. Killing 2 civilians touched more than 20 persons from the past one year under undivided Koraput district.
In another significant development the number of wall posters pasted at Malkangiri the district head quarters town for the first time where in the Maoists mentioned: Stop operation Green Hunt, corrupt government officials are going to be eliminated, provide electricity to one and all the villages under Malkangiri district, pay Rs. 250/- daily wages both men and women labours working under poverty elevation programmes failing which the contractors would be punished. All the shops and other business establishments should be closed on every Wednesday and Sunday, poor women and men should not be employed in Hotels and other business establishments except under government sponsored poverty elevation programmes, the contractors should engage labours in a work from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
The demands by CPI Maoists through written on pasting wall posters itself is quite significant that the Maoists dominated rural base shifting to urban areas the political observers said. It is quite surprising demands that the Maoists are running a parallel administration in undivided Koraput districts under a new powerful leadership.
