On Tuesday (August 24), Manoranjan Biswas and his son Mohan Biswas of Malakanagiri Village (MV - 98) under Kalimela Block in Malakanagiri district were killed by the members of the Communist Party of India (Maoists).
MANORANJAN BISWAS and his son Mohan Biswas of Malakanagiri Village (MV – 98) under Kalimela Block in Malakanagiri district were killed by the members of the Communist Party of India (Maoists) on Tuesday (August 24) night.
Armed Maoists numbering around 30 had reached the village (MV-98) on Tuesday night and organised a meeting and latter called both the father and the son and than took both of them to the nearby cultivable land and killed them with sharp weapon. In a letter written in Oriya that was left at the spot, the Maoists claimed that they had killed them because they were going against the interests of the local people.
The village MV – 98 is about 15 Km from Kalimela Police Station, where a company of Border Security Force was deployed inside the police station for anti-Naxal operation. The police didn’t reach the spot where the incident took place till Wednesday (August 25) 3:30 pm. Instead, the family members of the victims were forced to carry the bodies to the hospital for postmortem.
