Maria Sharapova lists London 2012 as one of her top priorities
Maria Sharapova has made London Olympics her important priority for the season, which will excite..

EACH AND every sportsperson wants to participate in the Olympics, which is considered to be a mega event. It is here where sportsperson represent their nation with pride, with the entire world watching them. Tennis superstar, Maria Sharapova, has never been part of this spectacle, which has been her dream since she was a child. She missed the 2008 edition at Beijing due to an injury. Hence, London 2012 will be her first Olympics.

She has put London Olympics as one of her priorities for the season, reported The Associated Press. So, it is for sure that her squeals and screams will be heard all over London, where the Olympic Games are scheduled to start on 27 July and end on 12 August.

The former world number one tennis player will be representing Russia in the competition. It is a great chance for her to bring laurels to the nation, where she was born. She is presently a resident of the US. But there are many people in the US who don't agree with the fact that she plays for Russia, while living in the US. Last year, she had said, "I just have always had the Russian feeling inside of me,” reported nydailynews.com.

The debate about the country is here to stay for the Russian girl. But it is very important that she focuses in one of her major ambitions this year, which includes the Olympic dream. For this, she has to be in full fitness, as the competition is only going to be tough for all the participants. But it should not be a great problem for Sharapova, if she regains her form and keeps herself injury-free. It would be a dream come true for her if she wins the elusive Olympic gold medal. It would be one of the most prized possessions in her elusive cabinet of trophies, which includes her three Grand Slam titles too.
