Maruti Suzuki India Limited has terminated 11 striking workers from its Manesar plant on Monday with immediate effect. About 800 workers from the company's Manesar plant are on the strike, and stopped production from the second shift on Saturday.
THE COUNTRY'S largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has taken disciplinary action against some of its striking employees, and terminated the contract of 11 workers at the company's Manesar plant on Monday with immediate effect.

Since Saturday, June 4, about 800 workers out of the more than 2000 workers employed at Maruti's Manesar plant, in Gurgaon, went on a strike in support of their demands to retention of contract labourers for the two units coming up inside the complex, and the recognition of a new union, Maruti Suzuki Employees Union (MESU).
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has already lost the production of 1800 units in the one and half working days since Saturday. In terms of monetary loss, company has incurred a production loss of about 900 million rupees since the workers at the company's Manesar plant stopped production from the second shift on Saturday.
Due to the worker's strike of the MSIL Manesar plant, the country's largest car maker's share was trading at Bombay Stock Exchange at Rs. 1223 - down O.72 per cent on Tuesday morning.
From Maruti's Manesar plant, company produces hatchbacks cars such as the Swift and A-Star as well as mid-sized cars Swift Dzire and SX4. From the Manesar's existing plant, 3.5 lakh units are produced annually, whereas the three units in Gurgaon have a capacity of assembling 8.5 lakh units annually.
