Mass protest to be held in front of Parliament to express outrage over Alwar lynching incident on April 19
Bhoomi Adhikar Andolan (BAA) is organising a mass dharna in front of the Parliament in Delhi on April 19 from 11 am to 3 pm to express outrage over lynching of a dairy farmer Pehlu Khan by self-proclaimed 'gau rakshaks' in Alwar, Rajasthan on April 1.

National leaders including chief ministers of Opposition parties, MPs, political, social and cultural leaders and Ankuri Begum, mother of the killed victim Pehlu Khan will attend the mass protest.

BAA has deplored that if justice is not delivered to the victims of Alwar incident then the country may in the near future face severe consequences of losing democratic and civil rights of the people.

BAA expressed concern that Rajasthan under the Vasundhara Raje government is witnessing complete lawlessness and anarchy. The state government did not arrest any of the real culprits of the heinous murder. Not a single rupee was announced as compensation to the victims. Government especially the Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria has publically justified the lynching.

And the Narendra Modi government has equated the victims with the culprits and miserably failed to ensure justice delivered to the victims on such a sensitive issue. Anybody can kill any person and go scot-free in Rajasthan if he shouts slogans of the Sangh Pariwar.

BAA demands the Vasundhara Raje government of Rajasthan must provide Rs one crore as compensation to the bereaved family of Pehlu Khan and Rs 25 lakh each to the other victims, taking the responsibility of the incident and to ensure civil and democratic rights and to give a strong message to the anti-national elements which are trying to disrupt communal harmony.

It also demands that the Manohar Lal Khattar government of Haryana must ensure immediate and free medical treatment to all the victims. The state government must provide a government job to one family member of Pehlu Khan.

Immediate arrest of all culprits and ensuring stringent punishment has also been sought along with withdrawal of false cases against the victims. A special investigation team under direct supervision of Supreme Court must be assigned to ensure impartial investigation to the crime and role of the police.
