Narendra Modi pulled another rabbit from his hat, bringing Bollywood's 'Dabangg Khan' Salman Khan to join him in the kite flying festival in Ahmedabad, thus helping NaMo gain popularity among the Indian masses. Salman Khan is presently in Gujarat for the promotion of his movie 'Jai ho.'
The duo addressed a press conference, where Salman Khan did not directly endorse Narendra Modi but diplomatically said, "may the best man win," on being asked, who he thinks should become the next Prime Minister. But this was a chance for NaMo to score some brownie points and draw himself closer to Salman fans as well.
"I have come to Gujarat after many years, and I see a lot of development has happened. But, I am not from Gujarat. It is for the people of Gujarat to decide about him. I have met Modiji for the first time. I liked meeting him. I wish him all the best in life," Khan said, reported Economic Times.
Modi also tweeted his photo with Salman saying he was having lunch with the actor on the occasion of Uttarayan. Both of them enjoyed a Gujarati delicacy, Undhiyu.
Many political experts saw this as a political gimmick where Modi has been somewhat overshadowed on Television and social networking sites by Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. This incident will somewhat put back Modi on the track of popularity.
