Mayawati once again launched a scathing attack on the Congress, saying that the Joshi's statement had tacit support of the Congress high Command, in what could be seen an oblique reference to party president Sonia Gandhi.
BSP CHIEF Mayawati once again launched a scathing attack on the Congress leadership on Friday, for failing to come out clear on the derogatory remarks made by UP Congress chief against her.
The UP chief minister alleged that the Joshi's statement had tacit support of the Congress high Command, in what could be seen an oblique reference to party president Sonia Gandhi.
Mayawati accused Sonia of not taking any action against the UP Congress chief and said this showed that the party leadership was in some way supporting her. She, however, assured that her party will not disrupt the Parliament over this issue and the proceedings will be allowed to run smoothly.
Earlier on Thursday, Mayawati said that it was painful to see Sonia Gandhi silent on this issue as she had neither condemned the statement by her party leader nor taken any action against Joshi.
She also denied that BSP workers were behind the attack on Joshi's house in Lucknow, a portion of which was set on fire, assuring an impartial inquiry. She also accused Congress of having an anti-Dalit mentality for making monetary provisions for only Dalit rape victims.
Joshi was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police for making derogatory remarks against the UP chief minister. Her bail application will be heard today in a Moradabad court.
