Maytag dishwasher recalls 2010: recalled serial numbers, models, brand and other details
Maytag Corp., a leading Appliance manufacturer, along with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, announced on Thursday June 3, the voluntarily recall of more than 1.7 million dishwasher units made by the company.
MAYTAG CORP., a leading Appliance manufacturer, along with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, announced on Thursday June 3, the voluntarily recall of more than 1.7 million dishwasher units made by the company. It fears that the heating element of the appliances could present a fire hazard.
Maytag dishwashers recall 2010 is making the biggest U.S. dishwasher recall in three years. The Maytag dishwashers were sold across the U.S. between February 2006 through April 2010, with a retail price between $250 and $900.
The recall includes dishwashers made by Maytag and sold under the brand names Amana, Jenn-Air, Admiral, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag and Crosley with plastic tubs and certain serial numbers. The affected dishwashers were manufactured with black, bisque, white, silver and stainless steel front panels. The brand name is printed on the front of the dishwasher.
Maytag has received 12 reports of dishwasher heating element failures that resulted in fires and dishwasher damage, including one report of extensive kitchen damage because of fire. No injuries have been reported.
According to the company, following is the list of the dishwashers’ recalled. The serial numbers should either start or end with one of the following sequences:

The serial number ending with JC, JE, JG, JJ, JL, JN, JP, JR, JT, JV, JX, LA, LC, LE, LG, LJ, LL, LN, LP, LR, LT, LV, LX, NA, NC, NE, NG, NJ, NL, NN, NP, NR.
