MCG continues to issue challans to make city poly-free
Under the leadership of its new commissioner, Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) is making all out efforts to make the city polythene-free.

IN ITS latest campaign, an MCG team under Chief medical officer Dr VK Thapar inspected the local markets in South City 2 at Sohna road, Malibu Town and Nirvana Country and issued challans against the shopkeepers who were still using poly-bags.

"MCG had already issued warnings to these shopkeepers yet they were using polythene so we now issued challans against them," MCG spokesperson told this citizen journalist .

On the occasion, Chief sanitary officer Bijendra Sharma was also present with his team. Last week also under Joint commissioner Anju Chaudhary, Bijendra Sharma inspected malls on MG road for polythene use.

Inspection teams of MCG from last one month are continuously spreading awareness among shopkeepers and local people of Gurgaon about the negative effects of the use of polythene. They also warned them against the use of polythene bags.

"We have informed them and warned them also about it and clearly told them to give their support to us to make our city polythene and pollution free otherwise we will take strict actions against them," spokesperson added.
