MCG to get new Commissioner: Mixed reactions over Praveen Kumar's transfer!
It has been just eight months that Praveen Kumar was posted as the Municipal Corporation chief in Gurgaon (MCG) and again the post has been given to another officer. While many were against Kumar's radical way of doing things, there were some who liked his working style. With the MCG chief, Gurgaon would also have a new officer as HUDA's top boss in the place of PC Meena.
In what was a surprise move, Praveen Kumar and PC Meena were transfered from their respective jobs. Praveen Kumar is the new chief administrator, Housing Board, Haryana, and special secretary, Land Use Board, Haryana
and in his place Vikas Yadav would take the charge of MCG. With MCG, Yadav would also be looking after the works of HUDA is being said.
Yadav would take hold of office this week and the news broke last Friday. As was reported by timeofindia.com, Yadav was as surprised as the people of Gurgaon. Not able to to mask his surprise, he said, ''I am getting to know about my transfer from you and am yet to receive the order, I am also not aware that I have been posted as both the MCG commissioner and the HUDA administrator. However, I will give my all to whatever job I am given. I am ready for my new assignment.''
He is currently the Municipal Corporation's commissioner of Faridabad and knows about his role in the grand scheme of things. He is the 11th commissioner to be given the job in Gurgaon. Praveen Kumar's transfer bode mixed feelings among the people working with him. While many agreed that he was radical in his approach to work, there were few who said that only such attitude works in Gurgaon, where everything depends on muscle power.
There were few others, who were so overjoyed with the decision that they distributed sweets after getting the news.
