Medak ordnance factory's 30 year old promise of 'One Patta One Job' yet to become reality?
Dayakar of Kyasaram village, one of the spokesperson of the Land Displaced Persons Association Ordnance Factory, Yeddumaialaram, Medak district, Telangana, stated that, the Government of India had acquired about 3600 acres of land belonging to we, farmers of the above mentioned villages during the year 1982.

In the meeting held on 20 May, 1982 of the Reccee Board, it was decided between the Government of India and Andhra Pradesh and agreed to provide One Patta One Job for the Land Displaced persons of Yeddumaialram, Kyasaram, Singapuram and Indrakaran villages in connection of construction of Ordnance Factory, Yeddumaialram, Medak district.

As per the State Government records, there were total 796 LDPs and the Ordinance Factory management has provided employment only to 489 LDPs so far. As per the job advertisement vide DAVP 58101/11/0057/1213 - EN 42/49 Semi-Skilled Labourer job vacancies of 90 were also kept pending till date.

"Even after Hon'ble High Court of AP orders in PIL 378/2013, Director of Admin of O F Board Lr. No. 039(6)/LDP/A/A and OFMK/02.04/Genl/2014-15/Estt, dt: 6, Jan, 2015 and Lr. Dt: 23/03/2015, we LDPs have not been provided any jobs and our repeated representations to the authorities through elected representatives has gone in vain," said Dayakar.

In the name of recruitment ban our case is kept pending years together. The farmers of the above villages were happy to donate our lands for the betterment of the nation and people of the area, but, they are left with total disappointment, he added.

The LDPs Association has again represented to the present Union government through online grievance portal and personal representation to the Defence Ministry, PMO and Govt of Telangana to consider their request on humanitarian grounds to provide employment to the LDPs patta holders or their legal heirs in the Ordinance Factory

The farmers hope that, the present union government, which talks of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas' will not let them down, will consider their grievance and resolve the issue amicably at the earliest.
