Mehengai and corruption
Due to rampant corruption and prices that are going through the roof, the common man is suffering - though the UPA II government retained power based on its promises to uplift the aam admi.
TODAY, IN India, inflation and corruption are the two hottest topics that are of concern to the common man. Recently, data released indicates that food inflation is again about to go double digit. How will the poor man or aam aadmi cope with this again? Even to get the basic necessities, every citizen of the world’s largest democracy is finding it tough.
I would like to ask this government that, "You are the same government that fought election in the name of aam aadmi. Now, only aam aadmi is suffering.
Recently, we have seen that many cabinet ministers declared their assets, and some of the figures made public were not surprising either. In recent years we have seen India facing many scams and financial scandals. It doesn't matter which scam we are talking about, but the point is through every scam in India we have lost billions of crores. Furthermore, all this money came from the hard-earned money of the people of India, who pay taxes but find that government functionaries are earning through other means - either directly or indirectly.
We need accountability and transparency to deal with this. That’s why I salute Team Anna, who gave consensus to this cause by launching the anti-corruption drive and pushed the union government to pass a resolution in the parliament agreeing in principle to the formation of a strong Jan Lokpal Bill.
