Meri Aankhon Mein Mohabbat Ke Manjar Hain: A Book Review
Dinesh Gupta, the author of 'Meri Aankhon Mein Mohabbat Ke Manjar Hain,' is an engineer by profession and poet by passion from a small town in MP. He loves to read and write, and it does get reflected in the poems he writes, creatively in our national language, Hindi. Although, he is a self confessed romantic poet, he has written on various topics in his first book. The book contains poems, shayaris, songs and articles on topics such as love, dreams, India against corruption, etc.

The cover and the first page of the book might make you believe that the book is about romance and the author is one dimensional. Dinesh Gupta might be a romantic poet but the poems he wrote about the country and the love for the motherland, is strong enough to touch you more than the romantic ones. I loved his articles at the end, which talked about his own experiences in a foreign country, freedom in India, etc.

One of the most talked about and appreciated poem is “Diya Antim Aas Ka”, which depicts the last few moments of a soldier, told in a simple and poetic way. He manages to bring the pain he feels for all the wounds inflicted on him and pride of the soldier to die for his country. He makes it believable and heart touching.

He has managed to evoke a sense of pride for both our nation and our national language. In a time where English has become our unofficial national language, people like Dinesh makes us believe that it is not so. I am also one of those English speaking and English reading population and he changed my notion with his book.

His poetry made me read it again, and I appreciate his efforts. I would have liked it more if the cover revealed more about what was inside the book but nonetheless, Dinesh Gupta is both talented and brave. I would recommend youngsters to read this book for an experience in Hindi Poetry and the veterans to know that Hindi Poetry is not a dying art.
