Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo score hat-tricks: Who plays better?
Both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo scored a hat-trick for their respective teams when they played their last match for their teams. Many people say Messi is better, while others root for Ronaldo. But, it is very difficult to draw a comparison between them.

LIONEL MESSI and Cristiano Ronaldo, who play for Barcelona and Real Madrid respectively, showed the world why they are considered to be the best players in the planet, at present. Both these players managed to score hat- tricks for their respective teams where Barcelona played against Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid played against Rayo Vallecano in the La Liga. As many fans around the world debate, who is better? Messi or Ronaldo. It would be very difficult to compare these two players, who are a class of their own.

Messi has been a big player for Barcelona, and has been scoring goals galore and his performances against top teams have also been noticed by everyone. The player who predominantly uses his left foot when he dribbles past defenders can unleash beautiful passes and he can himself take on defenders and score a great goal. His pace with the ball is a sight, which no football fan ever likes to miss. He has a simple game, which has been marked by his bursts of pace and his threading passes along with his soft touches. Messi is on his 8th season as a Barca player and he has scored more than 100 goals for them.

On the other hand, Ronlado started to earn fame when he was in Manchester United colours. He had became an instant hit as Ronaldo began to mesmerise defenders with his dribbling skills and his quick crossover moves, which soon became his trademark. Soon the cash rich Real Madrid team landed the player for a whopping amount of £80 million. Barcelona might never sell Messi for another 5 years or so due to the brand value that is attached to the player. But who knows?

Ronaldo has been in top form for Real Madrid for the past seasons. He is one of the most consistent players for Real Madrid on the football pitch. In fact, if we look at his stats, he has a better goal scoring record for Real Madrid as he has scored around 70 goals since he joined Madrid in 2009. He scored around 84 goals in the six seasons that he played for Manchester United.

When we draw a comparison with the number of individual awards that they have achieved in their career, we would still not be able to say who is better?  Messi has won several awards such as FIFA Player of the Year 2009, European Golden Shoe 2010, UEFA Champions League Top Scorer in 2009, 2010, 2011 and World Soccer player of the year in 2009 too. Cristiano Ronaldo on the other hand also, on the same lines, has also won lots of awards such as FIFA World Player of the Year 2008, World Soccer player of the year, 2008, European Golden Shoe during 2007-08 and 2010-11. Both these players have won around more than 50 individual awards in their career played so far. They are sure to receive some more awards in the future too. So, there is not much to choose between these players too as far as their awards are concerned.

Both these players have won their countries best player award too. But experts around the world are very critical about their performance in the national colours as they are not able to reproduce the form that fans across the world are acquainted to see on their TV screens while watching the these players playing for their respective clubs. They seem to be out of colour, as soon as they wear their national colours. They need to prove their skills at the international competition while playing for their respective country, in order to be called as an all round player, or may be a ‘player for all seasons’.
