The love for writing poetry and the sweeping peace that breezes that love to a supreme level of pleasure is my inspiration behind writing poetry. For me these two fields have never been hostile to one another.
How do you balance technical-self and literary-self?
It’s all about maintaining composure between work place and the passion burning inside. Poetry can pop up in mind in the disguise of images and words anytime in a day. It’s all about making that poetry survive till the end of the day. I am just a part of this process trying to make as much poetry survive amidst all other jobs.
Is writing a good career for youth?
One cannot survive just with poetry as a beginner but of course writing in general has lot of openings to be pursued as a career option.
Have you been highly impressed or influenced by any Indian or western writer?
The list is too long to be mentioned here.
What special quality of English poetry do you think can appeal most?
Concise, condensed and metaphorical poetry appeals to most youngsters nowadays.
How many days/ months do you usually take to write a poetry collection?
Time has never remained a determining factor for anything related to poetry for me. Completing a book has varied from a month to two years for me.
Is writing poetry easier than creating any technical thing?
I do not think so. Penning poetry comes as Himalayan challenge at times.
Are you satisfied with your career as a poet rather than being an engineer?
Life is all about balancing. I have been both an engineer and a poet and have been satisfied with both, though poetry has an upper hand when it comes to love.
Are you interested in writing in other forms of English literature other than poetry?
Yes, I have already penned a good number of short stories, which will hopefully be out by next year.
What will be your next project?
My upcoming projects include a book on Sonnets followed by a book of short stories.
