Metro connecting Jahangirpuri to Huda City Centre to be extended to Manesar
Delhi Metro is all set to extend its yellow line, which is from Jahangirpuri to Huda City Centre, all the way to Manesar in Gurgaon. The report for the same, which is better known as detailed project report or DPR would be ready in the next six months. Once that is done, then the Haryana government would as approach the Centre for its approval.
According to a report in Indian express, an official gave all the details about the upcoming project of the extension of the
Delhi Metro. He said that the metro will stretch for around 30 kms, which would run along the north and the south peripheral roads which are around 16 and 10 km long, respectively.
The official said, ''About five months ago, we awarded the task of preparing the DPR to US-based Aecom, one of the leading consultant firms in the field of structural engineering. The company was given a deadline of 11 months. Six months are already over and, if things remain on schedule, we will approach the Central government for approval soon.''
He also said that this new addition is a part of of the Mass Rapid Transport System connecting Gurgaon, Manesar, Bawal, Rewari and Neemrana. The request for the same project had been floated earlier but it was retracted without any explanation. According to a DMRC official they had not heard of the project after that but when asked Haryana officials denied the existence of any such letters.
