VERY SOON Mexico will have robots producing corn if the farmers take to the idea of Eduardo Rodriguez Hernandez, who has made a robot with the ability to farm. The robot can do farm work such as ploughing, planting, spraying and harvesting corn. This will prove very useful in the Mexican land as people there produce approximately 22 million tonnes of corn a year.
Eduardo Rodriguez Hernandez, an engineering student, made the robot equipped for farming, when during his masters degree, the idea arose.
The student decided to design a prototype robot that could be installed anywhere or any kind of land. The main advantage of his design is that it is really low cost and the cons are that since it is attached to cables, movement at all places would not be possible. But the inventor is quite confident that “prepare cropland and spread chemical fertilizers - nitrogen or phosphorus - and natural fertilizers' without any major problems and will also plant corn seeds to a certain depth.”
This Mexican is the son of a farmer and knows the nuances of a farmer intimately. He is improving on the prototype and making things simpler so that he is able to make a hassle free robot.
