Michelle Obama worked at a law firm, Sidney Austin at Chicago, but she left the office in 1991 to pursue public services. She then became the executive director of the Chicago branch of Public Allies, a non-profit youth organization promoting youths working for social issues. Before this she also worked as an assistant to the Mayor of Chicago. She also worked as Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago. In May 2006 she was named as one of the "25 Most Inspiring Women in the World," by the Essence magazine.
Michelle Obama met Barack Obama when she was working with the law firm Sidley Austin, where she was assigned to mentor Barack Obama who was a summer associate of the firm. They got married in 1992 and are now blessed with two children, Malia and Sasha.
Michelle Obama is an expert motivator. She worked for some causes like ending childhood obesity and helping military families. She has been an unrecognized force for her husband's administration. She has always been a supportive spouse and understands the responsibilities of being the First lady.
