Michelle Obama: The First Lady

Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama is the First Lady and the wife of 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama. She is the first African -American lady to become the first lady of the United States.

MICHELLE OBAMA was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. She was born to Fraser Robinson III and Marian. Robinson was a pump operator in Water Department at Chicago and he died in 1990 because of multiple sclerosis. And Marina was a housewife and a caring mother of two children. Michelle graduated from Princeton and Harvard. She is a lawyer and a community activist.

Michelle Obama is best-known as the classiest First Lady to be in the White House after Jackie Onassis. She is an intelligent, strong and smart woman and makes a great compliment to Barack Obama in White House. She is a good wife and a caring mother, and family values mean a lot to her. Her love for her family and the great family values followed by her should be the guidelines for all the Americans.

Michelle Obama worked at a law firm, Sidney Austin at Chicago, but she left the office in 1991 to pursue public services. She then became the executive director of the Chicago branch of Public Allies, a non-profit youth organization promoting youths working for social issues. Before this she also worked as an assistant to the Mayor of Chicago. She also worked as Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago. In May 2006 she was named as one of the "25 Most Inspiring Women in the World," by the Essence magazine.

Michelle Obama met Barack Obama when she was working with the law firm Sidley Austin, where she was assigned to mentor Barack Obama who was a summer associate of the firm. They got married in 1992 and are now blessed with two children, Malia and Sasha.

Michelle Obama is an expert motivator. She worked for some causes like ending childhood obesity and helping military families. She has been an unrecognized force for her husband's administration. She has always been a supportive spouse and understands the responsibilities of being the First lady.
