THE MICHIGAN Militia was an unorganized paramilitary organization founded by Norman Olson, a former US Air Force Officer in the year 1994. It was formed in response to the then President William Clinton’s apparent tightening on gun control laws.

Today, Michigan Militia is still successful and blooming even more due to the current economic struggles. The past weekend witnessed a function at Franks Stansa’s farm near Flint, MI to popularize their message and group. The function had a barbeque with carnival like event, a rifle firing range and also children were admitted without any charges. The conversation was all about the tough state of affairs in America with mostly all attendees railing against the government and the direction it was heading towards.

The trend in the increased militia activities came to a halt in the early 2000’s when a more conservative and gun right friendly Bush administration took charge. But with Obama taking office there have been about 100 new militias that have formed under the pretence of gun rights and protection of American ideas.

Olson had held an organizational meeting on Thursday November 12, in Nikisiki, AK where he stressed upon the participants the idea that a militia must be formed and readied for necessary action very soon.
