EVEN AS tech lovers wait for the Apple Ipad release on April 9, there have been may reports of other companies bringing out to tablets of their own. The latest buzz is that Microsoft is creating one such product, which insiders reveal, would be called Microsoft Courier.
The Microsoft Courier, as per reports till now, would be a dual screen tablet, which would be smaller than other such models and capable of folding like a book. It is expected to be just 5X7, the size of a photo, less than an inch thick and weighing about a pound.
New information leaks point that the Microsoft Courier would be based on the same operating system as the Microsoft Windows phone 7, albeit with a different, as yet unrevealed user interface.
Its salient featyures would include a web browser, e-mail service, address book and would function more like an organiser than a touchscreen computer. It is also expected to have an eBook software, making it a convergent eReader, mobile organizer and computer, all in one.
There is speculation that the Microsoft Courier would have a stylus to enter text inputs, apart from a built in camera and headphone jack. One may see this device in stores in the second half of 2010, but there is still information on its price.
