Microsoft unleashes IE9 Internet Explorer 9 to win browser war
Microsoft says that using a separate processor core to compile JavaScript in the background. and using a PC's grraphics processor to accelerate the rendering of text and graphics., has helped speed up the new browser.

MICROSOFT HAS launched the all new Internet Explorer 9 and believes that speed and HTML 5 support will be the new browser's selling points: s. If the final version is as fast as or faster than the preview, IE 9 will  most likely beat Firefox in the browser world.

As of now the IE9 Platform Preview is more than a browser display engine, and it isn't intended for users. There's no address bar, no navigation features or Favorites, no Back or Forward buttons, no multiple tabs, no malware protection or other basic or advanced browser features. Hence it cannot be set as your default browser.

The IE9 Platform Preview doesn't replace your existing version of IE. Instead, it runs alongside it. It runs only with Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or Windows 7. To be run on Vista SP2 and Windows Server R2, Platform Update. is needed.

The need for speed

IE 8 and its previous counterparts have proven to run slower than firefox and other search engines. The IE9 Platform Preview fixes that problem. When tested,. IE9 exhibited a dramatic speed improvement; nosed out Firefox (914ms) but was beaten by Chrome (489ms).

Microsoft says that using a separate processor core to compile JavaScript in the background. and using a PC's grraphics processor to accelerate the rendering of text and graphics., has helped speed up the new browser.

Microsoft also boasts of IE9's adherence to HTML 5 standards,. To show it, the company has created a set of Web pages on its IE9 Test Drive site.

IE9 showed mixed results on the Acid3 test, that shows how well a browser adheres to several sets of Web standards, notably those related to JavaScript and the Document Object Model (DOM). .

All in all Microsoft is betting on IE9's speed and performance. Looks like Microsoft's Web browser, IE9 will become indispensible to developers, due to its optimized performance and better support for several standards: Though IE9's inability to run on Windows XP will prevent it from becoming widespread until the nearly nine-year-old OS loses significant share to Windows 7.
Only time will prove whether the new browser is anything more than yet another modification.
