A MINOR girl, Sanju 15-years old, was killed on International Women’s day during the late hours in Mundula village under Kodala police station, in the Ganjam district in South Orissa. The inspector in charge of Kodala police station, Premananda Sahu, started investigation as per the first information report (FIR) lodged by the mother of the deceased.
According to the sources, the deceased was allegedly having an affair with her neighbour, whose family opposed their marriage. After the boy denied the affair, Sanju started an indefinite fast from the first week of March 2010. While she was on hunger strike, some of their neighbours and the family members of the boy tried to eliminate her, it is being said.
According to the police, on Monday the villagers of Mundula had asked the girl to stay in the house of the boy. Unfortunately her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan. The villagers suspect that the girl was killed and then hanged. The boy and his family members are now under the police custody and police is investigating the case.
