MISS VIRGINIA Caressa Cameron was crowned Miss America 2010 at the Las Vegas's Theater for Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Saturday.
Miss America 2009 Katie Stam presented the crown to Caressa Cameron. Miss California Kristy Cavinder named first runner-up while second runner-up honors went to Miss Tennessee Stefanie Wittler. The third runner-up was Miss Louisiana Katherine Putnam.
Caressa Cameron was announced Miss America 2010 by a seven judge jury on the eve of eighty ninth pageant contest.
Twenty-two-year-old Caressa is a student at Virginia Commonwealth University. She told people at the event that she has been a student of broadcast journalism and wants to make a career as a television news anchor. Miss America 2010 Caressa Cameron won a $50,000 scholarship and the first runner up, Kristy Cavinder, won a $25,000 scholarship.
