Congress party on Tuesday named Badshahpur MLA Rao Dharampal as its candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. It cast a shadow on the attempt of ruling party in order to cut the votes of sitting MP Rao Inderjit Singh who recently switched to the BJP after a bitter campaign against chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Dharampal, a three-time MLA has his own
strong support base in Badshahpur and Gurgaon assembly
constituencies. Local Congress leaders recalls how till last
elections both, Indrejit Rao and Rao Dharampal were campaigning for
each other but things look different now.
''We want to avenge that
personal attack Rao Inderjit made against the leaders with whom he
spent decades. Surprisingly this time he is fighting on a BJP ticket.
Defeating him is our main concern rather winning,'' said a state
