MLA Rao Dharampal will contest election from Gurgaon seat
Congress party on Tuesday named Badshahpur MLA Rao Dharampal as its candidate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. It cast a shadow on the attempt of ruling party in order to cut the votes of sitting MP Rao Inderjit Singh who recently switched to the BJP after a bitter campaign against chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.

Dharampal, a three-time MLA has his own strong support base in Badshahpur and Gurgaon assembly constituencies. Local Congress leaders recalls how till last elections both, Indrejit Rao and Rao Dharampal were campaigning for each other but things look different now.

''We want to avenge that personal attack Rao Inderjit made against the leaders with whom he spent decades. Surprisingly this time he is fighting on a BJP ticket. Defeating him is our main concern rather winning,'' said a state Congress leader.

As was reported by timesofindia.com, state Power Minister Ajay Singh Yadav till Sunday evening was trying to get his son, Chiranjeev Rao, this prestigious seat, but his son opted out. This became a perfect opportunity for Yogendra Yadav, AAP candidate, who may turn out to be the real beneficiary in the cold war between Congress and BJP and it would be a good chance for him to taste the triumph in Rewari.
