It is but evident that some big players amongst service-providers prevented Union government from introducing MNP earlier. Now monopoly of mobile-operators has ultimately ended with subscribers able to retain their mobile numbers even after change of service providers.

Union communications Ministry and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) should also look into money-minting tactics of mobile-operators, and must issue necessary directives to prevent subscribers being befooled by gimmicks. A prominent mobile-operator gives long advertisements for several hours in night-hours on many channels simultaneously exciting subscribers to make call on a number like 5664465 to answer a simple quiz on being connected to the anchor. But hardly any subscriber is actually connected to the anchor with the mobile-meter kept moving fast for complete duration of long advertisement at an exorbitant rate of rupees 12 per minute.
