Modern Nagpur still loves spicy and fried food this monsoon
Over the years, modernisation in Nagpur has defined the food choices of the people of this city. But the 'spicy' nature of the city can still be seen in the food the the city consumes - still spice and fried even as modern cuisines such as Thai and Chinese have made inroads in the city.

PIPING HOT adrak wali chai with crispy pakodas or steamed soup with spicy crispy snacks is the perfect monsoon delight to go for. In this season, Nagpurains are enjoying enough rains to opt for such delicious monsoon special snacks.

The rapid spread over of speciality restaurants in the city have given foodies best palatable choices. But, when it comes to talk about the taste of Nagpurians, how can we forget some chefs and restaurants owners of the city.

Noted celebrity chef Vishnu Manohar shares his experiences about the choices of Nagpurians. He says, "Since the last 10 to 12 years, Nagpurians have started experimenting and playing with tastes. Speedy emergence of Chinese, Italian and multi cuisine restaurants is the reason." Vishnu further adds about the monsoon special delicacies trend, he informs, "Of course, foodies are opting for some special preparation in monsoon, for sure. Kababs, pakodas, crispy fried and roasted food items are high in demand. Paneer tikkas, various types of various kababs, corn, and soups are the most preferable items on the menu. They come, eat and enjoy rains with family and friends."

While Kuldeep Singh, who owns the famous Barbecue restaurant in the city, says, "In monsoon we have to increase additional counters of Barbecue delights. Because in monsoon tandoori crisp non-vegetarian and vegetarian items are the most wanted platters, hence especially on weekends we are ready to serve those special platters."

However, Namrish Bharuka owner of Crazy Bite restaurant in Dhantoli, prefer, to play with tastes. Though the place is most crowded throughout the week but he knows spicy taste buds of Nagpurians and also keeps experimenting, he says, "Nagpurians like spicy and crispy food in monsoon. Hence, I keep presenting something special in soups and crispy items. Considering the Shravan month I have also made separate arrangement of Sabudana Khichadi, Sabudana Wada and special fries for fast, and those have been appreciated." Namrish adds that hot drinks coffee, hot chocolate, and tea are the most preferable drinks by all.

But Nalvin, restaurant manager from Fountain and Sizzlers really deals with something special. He says that crackling hot sizzlers with special thai sauces and rice has been the hot-top priority all this season. Thai, Chinese and their special vegetarian rolls have made foodies fall in love with those special delights.
