Modi has ripened into a statesman just in 4 years, says former Union Minister UV Krishnam Raju
Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader UV Krishnam Raju has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi rose to a universally acceptable level of a statesman from a political leader.

After celebrating the completion of the four-year rule of the Modi-led BJP government at the Centre, today at Vijayawada, he told media persons that the nation achieved many benefits besides ensuring  peace and development in various fields.

Krishnam Raju further stated that the US foreign affairs expert and Republican party leader Michael Pillsbury while addressing the American Congress foreign affairs committee had recently praised Modi as being the 'one and the only statesman' and a courageous leader at global level and as one who effectively restrained China.

Famous writer Azad Ray in his book "Saga of a Statesman" described Modi as a great statesman. In the purchasing power-based gross national product (GNP), India stood in the third place while US and China were in the first and the second places respectively among the largest economies in the world.

Pointing that the IMF estimated India to emerge as the highest growth rate achiever in the world in 2018-19, it predicted that India's economy would  register 7.8 per centile growth  while China's would be 6.4 p.c, America's 2.5 p.c and European Union's 2 p.c.

As the Telugu adage 'One who wins at home will win outside too' (intagelichi- raccha geluvu) goes, after becoming premier in India with a thumping majority in the last general elections, he toured a whopping 54 countries in the six continents of the globe and developed diplomatic ties with them. On the whole he travelled an incredibly longer distance of about 4,20,000 kilometres just in 4 years which is far longer  than the distance (3,84,400) between the Earth and the moon, Krisnam Raju revealed. The tours were aimed at boosting his beloved 'Make in India' concept. They yielded spectacular results as evidenced by the increase in foreign investments in our country because of the trust generated by him in favour of India.

Krishnam Raju said that the foreign investment in the country during 2011-2012 and 2012-13 was 81 billion dollars. The foreign direct investments (FDIs) during 2014- 15 and 2017-18 rose to 165 billion dollars which is more than double prior to 2014. The quantum leap was mainly due to the trust created by the Modi regime among foreign investors, he asserted.

The entire nation backs Modi-ism

Stating that BJP and its allies are in power in 20 states right now, 70 per cent of the population, and 80 per cent of the Indian sub-continent is being ruled by the BJP and its friendly parties, he added.

Raju exuded confidence that the BJP would gather its strength to contest on its own in the 2019 AP Assembly polls and emerge victorious without an iota of doubt. He said that Amit Shah's confidence in selecting Kanna Lakshminarayana as the BJP state president would not be belied by him because he was a capable and honest leader.  He is known to be rising to the occasions and taking right decisions at appropriate times.

Expressing anguish over the recent developments at the Tirumala Lord Venkateswara temple, he demanded that a CBI enquiry be ordered into the alleged disappearance of the Lord's royal ornaments.

He doubted the credentials of Chandrababu Naidu for wrongly implicating Prakash Sahu in the Godess Kanaka Durga's golden crown and some precious ornaments' theft case on April 16, 1998 and letting the original culprit escape punishment. He got a fake crown and ornaments manufactured and arranged to the Godess. He was the chief minister at that time. Isn't anything possible with such a leader? Raju ridiculed.

Release of white paper on development of Amaravati demanded

Demanding that the Chandrababu government release a white paper on the development made in Amaravati over the last three years, Krishnam Raju asked him to make public the reasons for not finalising the capital city designs so far.

So far not a single yard was developed in Amaravati capital city though a whopping extent of 1690 acres of land was handed over to the Ascendas-Singbridge and Sembcorp consortium after selecting them as master developers of the startup area, he alleged.

Earlier, about 33000 acres of land was taken from the farmers by the AP capital region development authority (APCRDA) way back in 2015 under land pooling basis with a promise to return developed plots to them. Neither was the area developed nor were the plots returned to the farmers, he criticized.

Ground realities are totally different from what we hear in the news channels and the periodicals, said Krishnam Raju and signed off.
