He was well equipped with the development data from his state to flaunt it in front of millions of youths watching him. He said the country is going through pessimism and if the model of Gujarat's development is implemented, the pessimism will turn into optimism.
He was a selling a dream of happy and prosperous India to the youths across the country by way of giving examples of various pro-development initiatives he has undertaken in Gujarat. By giving the example of GDP growth rate in his state, the growth rate of agriculture and the example pro-industry policies, he said that the development of Gujarat is benefiting the entire nation.
“The milk you are drinking in Delhi will be of Gujarat. The salt you are using would have been produced in Gujarat. We supply milk to Singapore, we supply tomatoes to Afghanistan,” said Modi.
Polictical analyst Avadhesh Kumar said Modi has successfully launched himself in national politics. “It was the first opportunity for Narendra Modi to present his views on governance and model of growth he is following in Gujarat in front of the entire nation.”
The conclusion, which has been drawn from the feedbacks of youths, according to Kumar, is that it was successful launch of Narendra Modi in national politics. “If you are not inclined towards any political party you may accept that neither in BJP nor in Congress there is a leader who can attract people with so ease. He has convinced the people that with the help of youths the development model of Gujarat can be implemented across the nation,” Kumar told this citizen journalist .
Referring to massive public outrage in Delhi over the gang rape of 23-year-old physiotherapist, Modi said that there is an urgent need to improve law and order, and this could be done only if there are police reforms, starting well from the recruitment to training of the personnel. He said that his state has already implemented the required changes in policing system by imparting police personnel high quality training and making them hi-tech.
He said youths need to be provided better education system for which there is need of well trained teachers. He gave the example of Gujarat where a university has been established to train and produce world class teachers.
The spokesperson and general secretary of Socialist Party of India, Dr. Prem Singh said that in the race to attract youths, Modi is far ahead than Congress scion Rahul Gandhi. “Rahul Gandhi is not behind but he is not there in the race to attract youths. He is icon only to the youth Congress' workers. There is no comparison between Modi and Rahul in this respect. The congress should understand this point being one of the main parties in the country. If they are serious to the issue of communalism they should backtrack from their stand (of projecting Rahul as PM),” said Dr. Prem Singh.
