Most wanted tribal leader Nachika Linga came out to protest for his people. They are being held by the government under false charges. Linga requests them to be released or else they would start off an agitation again.
THE MOST wanted tribal leader by both Andhra–Orissa state police, Nachika Linga, urged the respective governments to probe the illegal, undemocratic path adopted by the police, which initiated the false cases against the tribal’s and confined more than 200 tribal in jails.

Linga even declared that he would be present for talks with the government. He urged the government to release all those who have been confined in jails. The leader of Chasi Mulia Adibasi Sangh (CMAS) of Narayanpatna block in Koraput district of Orissa state urged the state government to hold direct talks with them regarding land reforms and to create peace under Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon blocks. It was declared in a well attended public meeting organized by the CMAS at Kumbhari of Narayanpatna block 5 km distance from the BSF camp.
Linga urged the government to withdraw the police force deployed in the name of Anti Naxal Operation. The meeting coincided with the anniversary of imposition of emergency in the country on June 26, 1975. The leaders who spoke in the meeting said Linga, who is still “Most Wanted” as per police records alleged that the state government had not taken steps to restore the tribal lands in Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon blocks of Koraput district. They said if the government did not initiate the land reform process than they may again opt for the path of agitation. Linga requested irrigation facility in Narayanpatna and Bandhugaon blocks. He said, “if Andhra Pradesh government can plan up irrigation project on the down streams of Jhanjabati river, than why can not our government opt for an irrigation project on the same river in Narayanpatna block”. The CMAS decided to prevent manufacturing, sale and consumption of liquor and our demand before the government is proper facilities related to irrigation, Education and health, he added. Prafulla Samantra of Lok Shakti Abhijan said Odisha governments oppressive actions against democratic organizations remember the days of repressive emergency in the country. He asked the state government to release all activists of the CMAS including its advisor Gananadha Patro by June 30, as per the promise made by the government. He wanted Linga’s name to be removed from the “most wanted” list of police so that talks could be initiated between him and the government. Social Activist Dandapani Mohanty said now it was the duty of the government to fulfil all 14 promises it made to mediators for the release to Malakangiri Collector and the Jr. Engineer who were abducted by Maoist in February.
