Mothers' Day commercials try to retell the modern mother's story
Four commercials just ahead of International Mothers' Day try to retell the story of the modern mother and how!
Browse these four commercials published by four popular consumer brands on YouTube and you'll find some refreshing narratives that try to redraw the idea of what our mothers mean to us.

Tata, Sunfeast, Nivea and Hyundai in rather commendable attempts, have sought to capture the essence of the modern Indian mother and in the process take us back to the eternal, unexplainable bond we share with the true unsung heroes of every household.

Tata Sampann Masalas urge mums to 'Change the Recipe' using their brand of condiments and seasonings with the clear message that, "Moms, it's time to let go of the pressure to be perfect, because you're perfect just the way you are. So have a little fun in the kitchen, embrace those culinary mistakes and experiment a little by changing the recipe."

"For Mother's Day we just staged our biggest surprise yet for moms by creating India's first Flash Song with the musical trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Watch the heartfelt performance by the participants and the delightful reactions it got from their moms", summarises Sunfeast's take on the forever-trending 'Flash Mob' phenomenon where people broke into 'Meri Maa' from 'Taare Zameen Par'.

Nivea showed a lot of gusto as it thanked all "Mother-like figures' in their tribute commercial titled #JustLikeMaa. "She puts your needs before hers and cares for you unconditionally. She looks out for you #JustLikeMaa. This Mother's Day NIVEA celebrates motherhood in all its forms, with a heart-warming film", is what Nivea has very graciously portrayed on screen.

Hyundai's ad film called #ToughLove campaigns against underage driving through stubborn moms who won't let their young teens drive, the message being, "When she keeps her foot down, it is because she has your best interests at heart. Today, you may not understand the reason behind her tough decisions but tomorrow, you will.
