THE WORD is abuzz that Motorola will be soon launching its next smartphone, Motorola Milestone XT720 in India in the forthcoming days. The Android run phone will be available for a price tag of Rs 30,000. The device, it is said, is as of now available only in Bangalore but will come to other Indian cities very soon.
The phone which has been baptized as 'Milestone' in India is sold as a 'Droid' in other parts of the world. The specifications of the phone are quite tempting which boasts of 3.7 inch WVGA TFT display, 8MP Camera with digital Zoom with Xenon Flash, Standalone GPS/E-compass, HD video capture at 720p, video playback onto HDTV via HDMI cable, 3G WCDMA, GSM 850/900/1800/1900, HSDPA 10.2Mbps, GPRS Class 12 and HSUPA 5.76Mbps.
As of now, the phone is expected to come with the Android 2.1 version and it may soon be upgraded to Android 2.2. While the above said specifications may not be too good for serious Android lovers, the people who intend to purchase it may somehow be let down by its 720 Mhz ARM Cortex A8 processor.Apart from this, the phone comes with various multimedia options such as music player, radio and video stream and a memory space that can be expanded up to 32GB. The standby time of the phone is 320 hours.
