Hilawi is the much awaited second release of author Ritu Lalit. The book is a fantasy thriller and finds much inspiration from the Puranas.
HILAWI, IS the second venture of author Ritu Lalit and all those who fell in love with her writing in her first book A Bowlful Of Butterflies will like this one even more. The first book takes the reader into the complexities of life and love and teaches them that it is through all those traumas and tantrums that we ultimately get through in life.
But this time, Ritu Lalit has penned a riveting tale in a completely different genre. Hilawi is a fantasy thriller, which attempts to find a middle ground between fantasy and reality. The book is grounded in Indian mythology and draws inspiration from the Puranas. While a wide range of authors have explored mythology and found commercial success very few Indian authors have ventured into this genre. The author herself recounts her love for fantasy and has tried to give her readers a taste of the same.
What remains to be seen in this context is that how much she will be able to capture the attention of her readers. For while youngsters around the world, including Indians love to read their Harry Potter and Percy Jackson tales, they are yet to warm up a similar idea that is of indigenous origin.
