Move over Denmark, Costa Rica is the happiest place on earth
As per a recent survey, the race for the happiest planet on earth for two years in a row has been won by Costa Rica. Now the country of surfers and beach lovers would get more people to taste happiness in the country.

WHO WOULDN'T want to live in the happiest place on planet Earth. However, everyone is not as lucky as the people of Costa Rica, which has been termed as the 'happiest place on earth' according to the UK-based New Economics Foundation's “Happy Planet index.” This survey takes into account 151 nations and measures the happiness quotient by measuring the ecological sustainability against well-being and life expectancy. In this arena, Costa Rica takes the smiley award for two years in a row.

As reported in USA Today website, this Central American country is not only famous for waves, beaches and national parks but it is also famous for its constitution banning a national military, and this won them praises for a “a per capita ecological footprint one third the size of that of the U.S.” Apart from this, the place also boasts of higher average life expectancy and well-being.

The other countries to make it to the list after Costa Rica are Vietnam, Colombia, Belize, El Salvador, Jamaica, Panama, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Guatemala. This is sure to have a positive effect on the tourism industry of the country as now more and more people would want to visit the Happiest place on Earth.
