Movie review: There's nothing 'great' or 'grand' in 'Great Grand Masti'
The adult comedy film and the third installment of 'Masti' series, 'Great Grand Masti' has released today. Starring Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh and Aftab Shivadasani in the lead roles, 'Great Grand Masti' returns with piles of adult jokes, catchpenny thrills, some steamy sequences and lots of skin show, thanks to the new entrant in the industry, Urvashi Rautela.

Undoubtedly, there is a fixed fan base of this Masti series and that's the reason why its first two installments did quite well at the box office. In fact, 'Grand Masti', the prequel of `Great Grand Masti' was the first adult comedy film to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in the country. However, it is yet to be seen whether 'Great Grand Masti' receives similar response from movie buffs or falls flat at the box office.

Cast: Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh, Aftab Shivadasani, Urvashi Rautela

Director: Indra Kumar

Genre: Adult comedy

Duration: 2 hours 7 minutes

IMDb Rating: 5.1/10

The very original squad of Vivek, Riteish and Aftab returns to the big screen with the trio playing the roles of bored married men who are always on the lookout for some 'masti' and excitement outside their homes. They struggle and fail in most of their misadventures but in rare cases their luck does favor them also.

The story of the film revolves around Amar Saxena (Riteish Deshmukh), Mehta (Vivek Oberoi) and Prem Chawla (Aftab Shivdasani). The trio bump into bomb-shell Ragini (Urvashi Rautela) who appears to be everything they have dreamt of. But how their dream girl turns out as their biggest misery, forms the crux of this adult-comedy.

During the entire film, it is the male audience that gets most of the laughs and indeed goes back home pleased, as the film is laced with horny one-liners. However, the film is not fit for watching with the family.

There is nothing significant in terms of content in the film. 'Great Grand Masti' fails to stand tall as far as its script in concerned. In fact, apart from the sleazy one-liners that tickle your funny bones, the film has nothing much to offer in terms of entertainment. It would not be wrong to say that the film could not aptly use the strong brand value in comparison to its much popular prequels.

Poor script, terrible direction, and average acting makes this film dull and boring. The film is great and grand, but only in the title. If you are quality conscious while choosing your entertainment, then this movie might not be the ideal choice for you.

Apart from lead actors, Pooja Bose, Shraddha Das, Mishti, Usha Nadkarni and Sanjay Mishra are also seen in supporting roles in the film. Notably, the film was initially slated to release on July 22, but the release was advanced by a week, after the movie got leaked online.
